Some days..
.. it’s better not to go to the gym.
I sat in class this afternoon thinking about everything I need to do in the next two weeks before the semester is over. Cue panic!
I am also in the process of moving.. finally moved out and I’m all over the place!
I went for a run this morning and intended on doing a shoulder workout at the gym later. But after reflecting on how much I needed to do before the weekend, I realized that taking time to go to the gym probably wasn’t the best solution for the anxiety that was setting in!
So I decided not to go. I’m posting this because I know so many of you feel guilty about not going to the gym. You think you should go because you always go. Having a test, meeting a deadline, working long hours are all excuses. Plan ahead and you should have the time, right?
There’s a difference between always looking for excuses to skip a workout, and prioritizing what needs to get done. A workout may not always be the most productive use of your time.
So give yourself a free pass once in a while. It may not be what you want to do, but sometimes, it’s what you need to do.
Now onto more homework!
